Cable protection for electrical engineering & electronics
Cable protection for electrical engineering and electronics: efficient and safe
In electrical engineering and electronics, reliable cabling and its protection are crucial for the safety and efficiency of electrical systems. Cables not only have to withstand mechanical stress, but also extreme temperatures and high voltages. At Techflex, we offer innovative solutions that combine precisely these requirements. They ensure optimum protection, durability and easy installation of cables and wires.
No more tripping hazards, cable chaos, poorly maintained electronics, etc.: clean and efficient cable bundling makes maintenance easier, improves clarity and increases safety.
The challenges for cables in electrical engineering
Cables in electrical systems have to meet several challenges. Temperatures between -70 °C and 200 °C can occur in control cabinets, motors and transformers. Nevertheless, the cable protection products must remain flexible and must not become brittle or fragile.
Applications with voltages of up to 15,000 volts also require reliable insulation to prevent electrical breakdowns. In addition, vibrations, abrasion and bending cycles can damage cables and impair their function - making it all the more important that the cables are able to withstand these challenges. And then there is fire protection: cable protection solutions for electrical engineering and electronics must be flame-retardant and not release toxic gases in the event of a fire.
Temperature resistance for reliable performance
High and low temperatures are part of everyday life in electrical engineering. Techflex products offer reliable protection over a wide temperature range:
Flexo® PET flexible braided sleeving withstands temperatures from -70 °C to 125 °C. It is suitable for applications from the home office to industrial production. The choice of colours allows for easy cable organization.
Flame Retardant Silicone Flex Glass® - Grade C, on the other hand, is a silicone-coated fiberglass conduit that offers protection up to 200 °C and can withstand voltages of up to 2,500 volts. It is suitable for transformers, motors and other high-temperature applications.
With a temperature resistance of up to 200 °C and an additional dielectric strength of 15,000 volts, the Heavy Wall Silicone Flex Glass® offers maximum protection for high-voltage cables in demanding applications and prevents electrical breakdown in high-voltage systems.
Dielectric strength for maximum safety
In addition to temperature resistance, dielectric strength is of crucial importance in electrical applications. Voltage-resistant cable protection for electrical engineering and electronics always means protection for life and limb.
This Silicone Flex Glass® - Grade A fiberglass conduit can withstand voltages of up to 7,000 volts, and even up to 15,000 volts in the Heavy (SGH) version. The silicone coating offers flexibility and abrasion resistance. It is ideal for motors, transformers and relay systems.
Our Acrylic Flex Glass® offers a dielectric strength of 7,000 volts and temperature resistance up to 155 °C. It resists acids and solvents, making it perfect for industrial electronics applications.
